Boot Camp FAQ

I am just starting back in to a fitness routine, is boot camp for me?

·         Basic training is great for jump starting your exercise routine.  The workouts are designed to offer a variety of exercises and modifications are offered for all fitness levels.

How soon will I start to see results?

·         Results vary by person and we strongly encourage participants to go off how they feel overall, and by the fit of their clothes.  Many times weight loss is not seen immediately because body fat is being exchanged for muscle. A healthy weight loss per week is 1 to 2 pounds, but exercise must include a healthy eating plan.

I have had a prior injury will I be able to do all workouts?

·         All instructors are trained to offer modifications for all exercises.  Though you may not be doing the exact exercise that the majority of the group may be doing, you will still be doing an exercise that is focused on the same muscle group.

Can I try a class before I commit?

·         Yes, with a signed waiver.  Please contact Fit In The City for schedule options.

I travel frequently, and am afraid I can’t commit to the three days a week?

·         Many participants in our boot camps have full time jobs, and travel is often involved.  The instructors know the work-out schedule and can provide a copy of the work-out for the days that will be missed though this require discipline on your part!

I work out, but can’t seem to lose any weight?

·         Key items could be the cause of no weight loss.  One main reason being eating habits, and a second being that you have reached a plateau.  We offer a nutrition guide and many encouraging tips to keep you on track.  Our work-outs are also always changing, which does not allow the body to adapt.

Are the workouts indoor or outdoor?

·         Weather permitting, workouts will be held outside, though all of our facilities provide an area for indoor workouts.  It has been proven that you burn more calories with an outdoor workout!

I seem to struggle most with my eating habits, is there nutrition information in the program?

·         An informational nutrition guide is provided for every boot camper, and nutrition tips are given throughout the program.  Please note that our instructors are not Dieticians. Fit In The City would be glad to recommend a certified Dietician to help you create a healthy eating plan.

I’m not a morning person, is there another time besides 6am?

·         Though 6am workouts are a great way to start your day and help give you energy, we do offer an evening boot camp at the Bellevue Lied Activity Center and at ConAgra Foods.

Is boot camp co-ed?

·         Yes.

Do I need to be an employee or member to register for boot camp?

·         We have boot camps that are specifically for our corporate sites, and we also have two locations that are open to members and non-members, Omaha Sports Academy, and the Bellevue Lied Activity Center.

What if I miss a day?

·        Attendance is required.  However, we understand that things may come up such as travel or illness.  If the location you are registered for has another boot camp running, you may attend at another time to make up the missed class.  Also, several of our locations also offer group fitness classes which could be used as a make-up.
